Who are we?

Hunt n Peck is an Australian owned online (eCommerce) store selling what we think are some of the coolest, clever and useful products available online and also those products that are in our opinion, must have’s.

What is e-Commerce?

The term “eCommerce” (also known as electronic commerce) essentially means “commercial transactions conducted electronically on the internet”. It is the process of buying and selling products and services, making money transfers and transferring data over an electronic medium (the Internet). This network allows people to do business with no barrier of distance and time.

Example: Amazon is one of the most popular online marketplaces used by both individuals and businesses. From its humble beginnings, Amazon has become the largest online eCommerce retailer and one of the most powerful brands in the world, followed closely by eBay.

Where do we source our products from?

We currently source and import our products from suppliers in the United States and China and use a dropshipping platform to bring these products to our customers.

What is dropshipping?

Dropshipping is a virtual fulfilment method where a store does not keep or stock the products it sells. Instead, when a store sells a product, it purchases the item from a third party (the supplier) and has it shipped directly to the customer. As a result, the merchant (store) never sees or handles the product.

Does this method affect our customers if the product is damaged?

No. We have a good relationship with our suppliers and if a product is damaged on receipt and a refund is appropriate, we manage this on behalf of our customers. Hunt n Peck operates strictly in compliance with the Competition and Consumer Act, the Australian Consumer Law.

Is dropshipping legal?

Yes, dropshipping is legal. At its simplest definition, it is just a form of order fulfilment where the supplier handles shipping. There is nothing illegal about it.

Is dropshipping legal in Australia?

Dropshipping is a widely used business model by online retailers. It is beneficial due to its low risk and start-up cost. However, in light of the Ozdirect case, many people believe that dropshipping is illegal in Australia. This is not the case; dropshipping is legal as long as online retailers abide by the Competition and Consumer Act, the Australian Consumer Law and other other relevant legislation.

When should I expect to receive my product/s?

This ultimately does depend on when you would like to receive your products. At present, Hunt n Peck uses ePacket as the main postage and shipping method. This allows us to offer free postage and shipping to our customers and ensures faster delivery times. Delivery via this method is generally around 13 – 20 days. If a customer requires a product sooner, we can do this however the customer will have to pay for the postage and shipping as it can be quite expensive.

How much is postage and shipping?

Zero. We offer free postage and shipping.

What is ePacket?

ePacket is a shipping option offered by suppliers in China and Hong Kong. As the name implies, the shipping service was designed for eCommerce, to make it more affordable and quicker for consumers to receive their purchases from online stores and marketplaces that ship out from China and Hong Kong.
